The use of organic forms and straight lines creates a contrast. Also, the materiality is another slightly contrasting element with using silver metal, rough silver metal, and glass in the connecting ridges of the forms. The benefits of having this contrast of forms and materials creates interest. The down side could be that it is harder to understand what is being looked at.
